High-Resolution Printing on Tyvek® Healthcare Packaging with REA JET HR 2.0

In medical device manufacturing, product identification is not only a packaging

printed on the package must remain clear, readable and verifiable throughout the product

life cycle.

For sterile medical packaging such as DuPont™ Tyvek®, manufacturers need a coding

solution capable of printing variable data, UDI information, GS1 Data Matrix codes, batch

numbers, expiry dates and human-readable text with high accuracy and stable quality.

The REA JET Solution

Practical Study Result

A printing and grading study using DuPont™ Tyvek® healthcare packaging showed that good

print quality can be achieved on different Tyvek® grades using REA inkjet technologies. The

study also showed that the best results depend on correct ink selection, print resolution,

pixel reduction and barcode size.

In the study, REA JET HR 2.0 was used for printing and REA VeriCube / REA VeriMax were

used for code grading. The results achieved acceptable barcode quality levels above the

required minimum grade, confirming that the complete REA solution can support reliable

UDI marking and verification for medical device packaging.
